Bhalinder L. Rikhye is a 1972 graduate of Columbia College and a 1974 graduate of Queens College, University of Cambridge, England, where he received his law degree.  Mr. Rikhye is also a graduate of the Inns of Court School of Law, London, and was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law of the Middle Temple in 1975.  In 1976, Mr. Rikhye was admitted to the Delhi Bar and joined the firm of Khaitan & Co., Solicitors and Advocates, New Delhi, as a litigation associate specializing in monopolies and restrictive trade practices.  Mr. Rikhye returned to New York and was admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of New York in 1979.

Mr. Rikhye is appellate counsel at Peltz & Walker.  In that capacity he has prepared appeals and argued before the New York State Court of Appeals, which is the State's highest court, as well as in its intermediate appellate courts.  The issues in these appeals include evidentiary questions in the numerous medical malpractice cases the firm takes to verdict as well as insurance coverage disputes.  Mr. Rikhye also prepares and argues all of the firm's post-trial motions in the trial courts.

He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Rikhye is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Member: Committee on Medical Malpractice, 2004-2007; Committee on Asian Affairs, 1999-02, Chair: Committee on International Trade, 1996-99; Member: 1993-96; Member: Council on International Affairs, 1993-99) and the New York State Medical Defense Bar Association.
